Why 22 momme? Momme measures how much silk goes into the fabric. 19 momme is the common entry level: lighter, but it wears thin faster. 22 momme is noticeably denser and more durable, and is the weight most premium silk pillowcases use. 25 momme and above feels heavier and costs considerably more.
Silk vs. satin: "satin" describes a weave, not a fibre, and most satin pillowcases are polyester. Ours is 100% mulberry silk, a natural protein fibre that is breathable and smooth. Many people find that this lower-friction surface helps with bed-head and morning sleep creases.

Care
- Hand wash in cold water, or machine wash on a delicate cycle inside a mesh laundry bag.
- Use a pH-neutral or silk-specific detergent. No bleach or fabric softener.
- Air dry away from direct sun. Don't tumble dry, because heat weakens silk fibres.
- If needed, iron inside-out on the silk setting.

Is it silk on both sides?
Yes. Front and back are both 100% Grade 6A mulberry silk.
What does Grade 6A mean?
6A is the top grade for mulberry silk fibre: the longest, most uniform strands, which make a smoother and stronger fabric.
Envelope or zipper, which is better?
An envelope closure has no metal or plastic parts, so there is nothing to snag the silk, rust, or break after repeated washing.
Will it fit my pillow?
It fits standard and queen pillows. It is too short for king pillows.

I absolutely love the pillowcases. Great color and great quality. By any chance, if you can make it either a zipper a the fold longer that would be better since the size of the pillow doesn't always fit the case.
